Alan Taylor
Alan Taylor, 60, was born, bred and educated in Sydney. He graduated as a civil structural engineer and has worked as an engineering consultant at Laurieton, near Port Macquarie in NSW since 1978.
After performing project management work for noted race driver Andrew Miedecke in 1989, building his car dealerships and service stations in Port Macquarie, Alan competed in 11 Targa Tasmanias with Andrew, winning outright in 1994, in a Porsche turbo 944 Cup car – the only rhd 944 turbo in existence.
He has participated in Targa both as navigator and driver and in Rally Tasmania as a navigator and since joining the NSW Porsche club, has competed in club events at Sydney Motorsport Park, Wakefield Park, Mount Panorama, Phillip Island, Winton and Sandown circuits.
Alan currently owns a Porsche 968 Club Sport, modified for circuit work, a 944 (951) turbo which he is rebuilding as a 450 hp race car and a 1937 MG TA roadster. And the Land Cruiser!
