Ah! This is the life!

And so begins the PMF Motor Challenge for 2015…

Day 1

Left Port Macquarie 16th March 2015 and drove to Gold Coast and stayed with our friends, Martin and Sue Berry.

Day 2

Drove to Mooloolabah on the Sunshine Coast and stayed with old friends Mike and Ann Radmall. Met some friends of theirs who have travelled a lot… so lots of stories were told!

Day 3

Drove west to a lake called Awoonoonga just south of Rockhampton. Camped in a national park – illegally right on the waters edge. 6am next morning the lady ranger woke us up saying “knock knock you are illegally camping”.

Had a swim in the lake.

Donna cooked bacon and eggs (bloody beautiful!). Packed up and moved on at about 9am.

Lovely place!

Checking out what’s on offer in Ilfracombe

Day 4

Drove to a little place called Jerico and camped on the side of the river.

Had a muddy swim – water was cool and refreshing.

Day 5

Drove to Ilfracombe, 27km south of Longreach.

Had a couple of beers in the local pub (very old cute pub) – met new publican and a few others.

Then drove to Longreach and set up camp next to the Thomson River. Had a swim in muddy river – was nice after 46! Bloody hot night, so not much sleep. Today is Saturday, so waiting for the Taylors to arrive then tomorrow we’ll drive north somewhere towards Winton. Will see Dinosaur stuff! Might see Clive Palmer!
